Peugeot upgrades 3008 for 2012

Peugeot Australia has refreshed the award-winning 3008 as part of the MY12 upgrade.

The 2012 3008 includes of a number of important specification changes to the entry level grade now known as “Active” grade and the new “Allure” grade also now receives leather upholstery as a standard inclusion.

Coming into line with the new Peugeot naming structure, the Active model replaces the previous XSE, while the Allure replace the XTE.

As part of the upgrade, the Active models now feature Bluetooth and USB, the unique Cielo glass roof as standard as well as the elegant head up display – total value of $2000. This is in addition to the already comprehensive level of equipment that includes a three-position boot floor, automatic headlight illumination system, cruise control with speed limiter, dual-zone climate control air conditioning, electric parking brake, electronic parking assistance (rear) and one-touch rear seat folding from the boot, split tailgate opening, electrically adjustable and heated door mirrors, height and reach adjustable steering wheel, rear air conditioning vents, air conditioned centre console storage compartment, leather trimmed steering wheel, rear centre arm rest with storage compartment, removable and rechargeable torch in boot, front seat back map pockets, rear passenger stowage bins, 17-inch alloy wheels, front and rear fog lights and 60:40 split folding rear seats.

Safety includes six airbags, Electronic Stability Program, hill start assist function, three point seat belts on all seats, pretensioning and force limiting front seatbelts, retractable steering column and brake pedal, dynamic roll control and emergence brake assist and a five-star crash rating.

The Allure model gains leather seat trim worth $2500.

All MY12 3008 models now carry Peugeot’s class leading Assured Service (capped price) plan already on the 508 and 308. Peugeot Assured Service offers customers the peace of mind of knowing in advance what their 3008 service costs will be over three years (or 60,000 km). The service fee is $330 per scheduled service under this plan.

Despite the extra equipment, prices have only increased by $500.

The 1.6-litre petrol engine is unchanged with 115kW of power and 250Nm of torque. Fuel economy is 7.7L/100km. The 2.0-litre turbo diesel has 120kW of power and 340Nm of torque and boasts fuel economy of just 6.7L/100km. Both engines comply with the stringent Euro 5 emissions standards.
