VW Arteon returns with new line-up and all-new Shooting Brake body style

Volkswagen Australia announces the return of its sleek Arteon with an expanded range including a new powertrain and a new shooting brake variant, set to arrive early Q4 of 2021.

  • New Elegance variant with a 140TSI FWD driveline starting under $60k for the first time
  • Top of the range R-Line variant returns with the 206TSI engine and 4MOTION AWD

The reintroduction of the Arteon brings with it a new entry Elegance variant which uses a 140TSI FWD driveline, allowing the Arteon to have an entry price under $60k for the first time. Even though the entry price is lower than ever before, by no means is the Arteon Elegance lacking in specification. In fact, the Arteon Elegance has even more specification as standard than the outgoing Arteon.

The Elegance model grade now includes new technology like Travel Assist, Wireless App-Connect and DAB+ radio and more comfort with ventilated seats, Harmon Kardon premium sound system and a new steering wheel with touch controls, all standard. The choice of a two-tone Mistral Nappa leather interior is also a first for the Arteon.

Stepping up to the Arteon R-Line, the returning sports grade builds on the already comprehensive specification of the Elegance, but with an even sportier look using the familiar 206TSI driveline with 4MOTION. On the outside, the R-Line stands out with the new 20″ Nashville alloys wheels which are surrounded by new front and rear R-Line bumpers. On the inside, the new R-Line sports seats with integrated headrests creates a really sporty ambience in the cockpit.

Perhaps most exciting is the introduction of Volkswagen’s sexiest wagon ever, the Arteon Shooting Brake. To reduce complexity, Volkswagen is keeping things simple by mirroring the Arteon Shooting Brake specification to that of the Arteon variants and only offering one option – a panoramic glass sunroof – available for all variants. Adding further value, metallic paint is included in the vehicle price, making the new Oryx White Pearlescent paint the only paint cost option at $800.

The new Arteon and Arteon Shooting Brake Range will arrive in Volkswagen showrooms early into quarter four of 2021. Like all Volkswagens, it will come with a five-year/unlimited kilometre warranty, capped price servicing every calendar year with the option of pre-purchasing three and five-year service care plans, and the option of purchasing through the Volkswagen Choice guaranteed future value program.
