Honda Civic VTi Review

2012 Honda Civic VTi Series II sedan
If you’re looking for a stylish everyday car, make sure you stop by Honda and take the Civic VTi for a spin! I would like to mention that the Civic range has 5 spec ranges and the VTi is the bottom of the range. So if this is a little too low spec for you, take a look at the other models the range has to offer.

Powered by a 1.8L, 5 speed automatic, petrol engine the Civic VTi produces 104kW of power @ 6500rpm and 174Nm of torque @ 4300rpm, consuming a reasonable 6.7L/100km (combined rating). While many everyday sedans tend to blend together, the Civic stands out from the crowd with a chrome front grille and a range of 5 colours including a bold red and a crisp white.

The VTi also features automatic off headlights and the Coming Home/Leaving Home technology which illuminate your surroundings so you don’t trip on the way to your door at 3am in the morning! The VTi also offers keyless entry.

Once inside it is rather easy to find a comfortable driving position and like most sedans, I would recommend only filling the car with 5 people on short distance trips. Like the Insight, the Civic has the ECON option and the Eco assist speedometer.

However, the Honda Civic also boasts an Intelligent Multi-Function Display (i-MID) which allows the driver to view average fuel economy and speed, audio/Bluetooth information, distance to empty, outside temperature display, clock, trip meter, time elapsed, odometer, seat belt reminders and even the ability to customise the wallpaper. The other models include more features on the i-MID.

The audio system features AUX, USB connectivity with i-MID integration, Bluetooth with audio streaming and i-MID integration, MP3 compatibility and Speed-sensitive Volume Compensation. The VTi boasts 5 star ANCAP rating and the Honda G-Con technology and is covered by Honda’s 3 year/100,000km warranty.

If you’re after a car that drives with ease, offers the basics with a bit of luxury and technology and comes in just over $25,000 the Honda Civic VTI is for you!
