Hyundai has developed a Road Noise Active Noise Control system to dramatically reduce noise within the cabin of a vehicle.
It is a noise cancelling system that Hyundai says has been developed beyond existing systems which are limited to the number and variations of noises it could affect.
For example, there are different types of road noises that the new technology can process, such as resonant sounds created between tires and wheels or rumble sounds coming up from the road.
One of the interesting benefits is that traditional sound damping methods such as insulation and dynamic dampers fail to block the buzzing infrasounds completely but also adds more weight than this electronic alternative.
