GAC has announced the addition of a short-range AION UT to its all-electric lineup in Australia; an offering which is set to stir up the entry-level EV market.

 Designed for the urban jungle 

Designed with urban mobility and financial accessibility front of mind, the AION UT derivative is equipped with a smaller 44kWh Magazine Battery 2.0 pack – a component that lays claim to being one of the world’s safest battery pack units. Set to deliver 320km1 (WLTP) of range, the model will be a standout performer when it comes to daily driving performance in this portion of the marketplace, when compared to other highly talked-about rivals.

While further details for the model’s local specification and pricing remain under wraps until closer to launch in late 2026. The existing AION UT – currently starting from $31,990 driveaway nationwide. Provides a strong indication for the anticipated positioning of this exciting new option for Australian consumers.
