MG HS SUPER HYBRID – MG Motor Australia has confirmed the pricing for the MG HS SUPER HYBRID ahead of launch in September as MG grows its range of power trains in the HS lineup. 
MG’s new SUPER HYBRID technology has been designed specifically for Australian conditions.
Engine
Combining a 1.5L turbo petrol engine and a 24.7kWh battery in the HS to deliver smooth and quiet motoring. The battery will power lower speed driving with the combustion engine delivering additional power when at highway speeds.
When the battery is in a low state of charge, the system ensures the drivetrain continues to operate as a hybrid model to deliver fuel efficient motoring. MG Australia internal testing has shown that without charging, the hybrid system can achieve impressive fuel efficiency of under 5.0L/100km in real world driving conditions.
HS SUPER HYBRID Models
The HS SUPER HYBRID will be available in Excite and Essence trim levels, with the Excite model priced from $52,990 driveaway and the Essence priced from $55,990 driveaway.
The MG SUPER HYBRID system has been tuned specifically for Australia driving habits. MG has extensively tested and tuned the technology to meet the needs of Australian drivers.
HS SUPER HYBRID range
Motorists will be able to enjoy 135km (NEDC) range of electric driving through the 24.7kWh battery. From a full tank of petrol (55L) and a charged battery, drivers can expect to achieve a 1,000km range, seen through MG Australia’s internal testing. Already MG has driven from Sydney to Melbourne across varied terrain testing this, arriving with over 100km of range to spare.
