Chery Group reaches record top five market position in May

Combined Chery and Omoda Jaecoo sales propel group to fifth position nationwide in just 3 years of Australian operation, with Tiggo 4 and Jaecoo J5 EV securing top 10 model rankings.

Chery Group has secured its highest-ever market position, ranking as Australia’s fifth-highest-selling automotive company in May 2026, with a combined 6,971 vehicle sales across the Chery and Omoda Jaecoo brands. Chery recorded 4,401 sales during the month, while Omoda Jaecoo contributed 2,570 units, highlighting the rapid growth of the group’s multi-brand strategy and its emergence as one of the country’s fastest-growing automotive businesses.

The achievement also marks Chery Group Australia’s 23rd consecutive month of growth, demonstrating the sustained momentum behind both brands amid a highly competitive market and underscores the increasing appetite among Australian buyers for vehicles that deliver advanced technology, comprehensive safety features, strong value, and electrified powertrain options.

Further reinforcing the strength of the Group’s product portfolio, both the Chery Tiggo 4 and Jaecoo J5 EV secured positions amongst Australia’s top 10 best-selling passenger vehicles in May, reflecting strong customer demand across both traditional and new energy vehicle segments.

The combined performance of the two brands has elevated Chery Group into the nation’s top five automotive groups for the month of May, marking another major step in the company’s long-term growth strategy for Australia.
