KIA Stonic S 2022 Motoring Minute Review

Kia entered the urban SUV space with the FWD only Stonic a little while ago. We spent a week in the entry level ‘S’ version. Previously we have tested the Stonic GT.

If you think of the Stonic as a RIO bulked up you have a good picture of it. The RIO is a good car for its purpose.

Like all new Kias, the Stonic benefits from extensive standard equipment across the three-model range _ S, Sport and GT-Line _

Stonic comes standard with six airbags, AEB, Lane Following Assist, reversing camera with dynamic parking guidelines, and a host of extra safety features.

Inside the ‘S’ version has cruise control, wireless Apple Carplay and Android Auto (S trim only), multi-connection Bluetooth, 8-inch Multimedia touchscreen, 6-speaker sound system, 4.2-inch TFT LCD driver’s cluster, 15-inch steel wheels and auto headlights.

Even though its FWD only the little SUV Stonic is ideally suited as an Urban run-around, that has enough flexibility to take a couple on a weekend away.

Like most small cars it’s a little light on performance but makes up for that in economy and provides a smooth and comfortable ride around town.

Priced from $22,990 driveaway for the AT version, the Stonic completes the KIA SUV line-up
