Hyundai Tucson Highlander 2022 Motoring Minute Review

Hyundai Tucson sits right in the competitive medium size AWE SUV segment. Over the years it has evolved and the latest update in April 2021 brought a host of significant improvements, some class leading to the range.

Tucson comes in three models, with an N Line option pack available on all of them. There is also a choice of three engines, a normally aspirated petrol, a turbo petrol and a turbo diesel engine. There is 2WD and AWD choices as well as three transmissions that are aligned to engine choice.

My pick is the Highlander in either the 1.6L turbo petrol or 2.0L diesel. It comes with a stunning array of comfort and safety features and is packed with little luxuries.

One thing I particularly like is the tablet style driver instrument panel. It looks a little like its stuck in there but works a treat and is a clue to the future of information for drivers.

The other thing that stands out is the driving dynamics, smooth and quiet on suburban roads, cruisy on the freeway and complaint on our back roads that can be a little rough.
