Hyundai has developed the world’s first Machine Learning based Smart Cruise Control that develops a pattern similar to the driver.

For instance, even the same driver may accelerate differently in high-speed, mid-speed or low-speed environments.

When a normal Smart Cruise Control is activated, drivers might sense a difference as to how the car is adapting compared to what they would do, making them feel anxious and doubting that the car is doing the right thing.

The machine learning is based on how you drive including: distance from preceding vehicles; level of acceleration; and responses to driving conditions. In addition, the general driving conditions and speeds are considered as well.

It’s not yet available by is planned for future vehicles.
