GAC EMZOOM details
Set to join the Australian market in a single luxury trim level, the EMZOOM’s form has been curated by GAC’s global design team to ensure it stands out across an ultra-competitive segment.
Exterior
Immediately, the EMZOOM commands a striking presence thanks to features such as the “Mecha Wing” grille, Laser Eye Split LED headlights and “Light Dart” rear-light signature. Delivering a bold, futuristic look, the model’s broader exterior form is characterised by sharp lines that appear as if they could have been cut by diamonds themselves.
Interior
Inside, the EMZOOM is adorned with more than just your everyday tech essentials. An impressive 14.6” LED central control screen allows users to operate key features such as the driver’s ventilated seat, multi-colour ambient lighting and six-speaker DTS audio system. 50W wireless charging is available on the central console, perfect to power devices utilising the vehicle’s wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto – two modern automotive essentials.
Importantly, key features such as climate control and oversized openable panoramic roof can be operated at the touch of the button – allowing the user to refrain from fumbling behind the wheel while attempting to make these adjustments.
The vehicle’s tech also extends to the outside, with a powered tailgate, rain-sensing front wipers and LED automatic headlights all owing to the vehicle’s daily usability.
Fit and finish throughout the EMZOOM is kept to an exceptionally high level, thanks to GAC’s near three decades of experience in automotive manufacturing. As testimony to this, GAC has continuously held J.D. Powers’ title for Chinese Initial Quality Study (IQS) for eight consecutive years – an accolade that recognises overall new-vehicle quality.
Ultra-reliable and efficient conventional powertrain.
Propelled by a 1.5-litre turbo petrol engine, the EMZOOM speaks to those looking for a more conventional solution in their next vehicle. Delivering maximum power of 125kW/170PS and 270Nm of torque, drivers can select from the model’s three drive modes – ECO, COMFORT AND SPORT – to match their needs. The EMZOOM delivers a competitive consumption figure relative to the vehicle’s immediate rivals at 6.6l/100km (WLTP).
Paired with a 7-speed wet dual clutch, the EMZOOM can achieve shift times as low as 0.2 seconds, while the vehicle’s electro-hydraulic control system ensures shift accuracy of over 99% to deliver consistently smooth and stable gear changes.
Safety Features
The EMZOOM features an array of ADAS systems including

- Blind Spot Warning.
Equipped with six airbags, the EMZOOM is also underpinned by GAC’s patented safety design technology to deliver excellent passive safety protection. With the body made of more than 58.9% high-strength steel. While hot-stamped steel (17%) is utilised around the passenger safety cell.
Pricing and warranty information for the EMZOOM will be released, alongside the AION V and M8 PHEV, at GAC’s market launch event taking place on 18 November.
