Common courtesy on our roads isn’t that common unfortunately. I was reminded of this when merging in traffic last week and someone decided that they wanted to be ahead of me and not let me merge.
It didn’t really bother me much, but obviously meant a lot to the driver of the other vehicle.
So my simple thoughts are
Does it really matter if you are in front or behind the merging car in heavy traffic? A zipper merge is quicker for everyone.
If someone lets you in say thanks, a simply wave makes all the difference as does letting someone in.
If you are in a 80 zone or on the freeway move over, don’t stay in the right lane. If someone wants to pass let them. So what if they are going faster than you.
Be aware of your surrounds and other drivers when you driving. You are not the only person on the road. Every other driver has a family they want to see again.
Oh and finally please don’t text and drive, that’s just plain stupid.
