2018 Toyota Yaris SX Lifestyle Review

Toyota Yaris SX:-

We had the Toyota Yaris SX with the optional safety pack for a week. The Yaris is designed as an inner city transport for the young or possibly young at heart. So who better than our resident millennial reviewers Brianna and Alex to give the car to. This is reviewing at the raw level.

Here’s what they thought:-

Toyota Yaris SX Looks and Style:-

Brianna- The Yaris SX is a great little car, looks cute and easy to fit anywhere due to the size. The yellow stands out and can easily be spotted if you forgot where you parked. It fits on any city street without any problems.

Alex- The yellow is a pretty cool colour and really stands out. Its very manoeuvrable and zippy. For a small car it looks pretty good.

Toyota Yaris SX Comfort and Style:-

Brianna- Inside is very comfortable for someone like me, great space for a little car. I was waiting in the car for 2 hours and was able to make myself very comfortable, fitting across the front seats as there is no middle console. I could sit back and watch my Netflix while I waited. Also had a great space to be able store items or your drinks and so on.

Alex- The seats didn’t feel too supportive for larger guys and felt cramped in the drivers seat, however the passengers side was spacious enough. The Yaris SX is a little bit too small for my size, if your tall or broad. The steering wheel and dash all looked sleek and sort of sporty like.

Toyota Yaris SX Technology and Features:-

Brianna- The car had everything you would need for this type of car, had GPS, Bluetooth, good sound system, the air con worked great and was good for the cold early mornings. I liked the fact that it seemed to have a lot of safety features that often is missing in this price range.

Alex- The reverse camera was great, giving a wide view behind the car. The sound system was surprisingly decent for the car of this price range and size. Bluetooth connectivity was very easy and simple. Overall all the features was sufficient and impressive. It is missing Apple Car Play and Android Auto though and this is a big minus for the age of the buyers.

Toyota Yaris SX Drivability:-

Brianna- The Yaris drove great, a real zippy little car, had a decent amount of push when going up hills for this size car and engine. Felt really smooth when driving over any speed bumps and was very fuel economical. Its not fast and has a small engine but felt as though it was more than sufficient for city driving.

Alex- Very easy to steer and manoeuvrable, not the most powerful take off for acceleration but held its own once you got it to a consistent speed on a highway. The braking was great and didn’t feel too sensitive. I’m not sure how it would go with a full load and on the freeway. However we had four adults in it for a night out and it seemed to cope OK.

Toyota Yaris SX Lifestyle compatibility:-

Brianna- For an everyday car going to and from work in, its great, doesn’t use too much petrol sitting in peak hour traffic. For little getaways on the weekend, its just the right size to fit what you need and is comfortable enough for a couple hour drive however I don’t think I would like to be doing long trips or a couple holiday in one of these.

Alex- I personally I wouldn’t drive this car unless I was living in a really dense urban area and I had an office job and don’t have to travel distances of more then 20 minutes each way a day.

Toyota Yaris SX Verdict:-

Brianna and Alex- There are features we liked and didn’t like, overall we would say this car fits a specific lifestyle and person who doesn’t mind the lower power as a trade of for more being  a manoeuvrable and fuel economic car. The standout features for us was the easy steering, safety/technology features, the size and how easy it was to move around or fit anywhere.
