Suzuki Swift Update

2013 Suzuki Swift
Suzuki has launched an upgraded version of its award winning Swift light car and sharpened the value equation with additional new features.

Suzuki’s most popular car now comes with cruise control and factory integrated Bluetooth as standard equipment in the best-selling GL, while the range topping GLX model now adds cruise control to its already high level of specification.

“We promised cruise control would become standard on the GL and GLX at launch and we are following through on that undertaking,” said Suzuki Australia Automobile General Manager Tony Devers.

“With the addition of these customer wants, the Swift becomes even better value for money.

“We have added features worth $850 to the GL, but the price has increased by just $300. And despite adding cruise control to the GLX the price for our most luxurious Swift remains unchanged.”

Devers said the product upgrades signalled the start of Swift production from the company’s new factory in Thailand.

“We’ve conducted several inspections of the plant and the product and come away extremely impressed by the quality.

“It’s indicative of Suzuki’s obsession with quality control. We have numerous global factories in sites including India, China, Indonesia and Hungary and the vehicles are all made to the same standards, irrespective of where they are produced.”

Thailand is the second biggest source of cars sold in Australia behind Japan. Last year Australians bought 171,878 Thai-made cars, up nearly nine per cent on the 2011 figure.

Devers said there had never been a better time to buy a new Suzuki Swift.

“It is the perfect combination of styling, five-star safety, economy and value for money,” he said.
